Taj Mahal and Agra (Day 6)

Today we headed to Agra to see the Taj Mahal! We woke up early and ate our breakfast during the bus ride. As we drove, we sang songs, observed the crazy driving, and viewed the neighborhoods and street shops.
When we arrived, we went straight to the Taj. It was incredible, and we have taken many photos to commemorate the amazing experience! After learning about the history of the tomb and wandering around for a while, we went to lunch at a very nice hotel called the Trident hotel. Most of us enjoyed our first soft drinks in India :).

After the delicious meal we headed to the Agra fort. We were able to see where the king who created the Taj was kept hostage for the end of his lifetime. We also saw several monkeys and parrots! We then arrived at a handicrafts store where we learned how much work it took to create the beautiful marble work on the Taj. Many of us bought several gifts for our families here.
After shopping we returned to the hotel for high tea which included crepes, cake (for Ayesha’s birthday!), and mini sandwiches. We then headed home to get some sleep! We can’t wait for tomorrow!
