Snow Fall in China!

We were greeted this morning with a spectacular snow-fall during the night which we celebrated with a snowball fight in the courtyard before heading down the hill to the bus and van to the Lijiang airport. Unfortunately, we were snowed in at the airport and our flight was delayed; although the Lijiang airport was modern in every way, they traded the expense of heating the building with free hot tea and – eventually – airplane meals. Multiple games of Texas Hold ’Em and Yahtzee later (for which we had multiple interested Chinese spectators) we loaded onboard and made our way to Shanghai. The delay of the flight precluded our going to see The Bund, but we got a pretty good look at it when we went up the “Bottle Opener” skyscraper in Pudong five days ago! Gathering tomorrow at 7 for one last group activity and then it’s off to the airport… after we celebrate Aimee’s birthday, of course! Due to the fact that we will arrive before we left, she will get to celebrate a 27 hour birthday! 😉
