Meghalaya, India

In Meghalaya, a state in India, power and wealth is passed down through females. Unlike many areas that have women’s rights movements, Meghalaya has Syngkhong-Rympei-Thymmai, the men’s rights movement. Leaders of the movement assert that men are continually pushed down and demoralized, preventing generations of males from reaching their full potential. Men are not trusted with monetary decisions and many are forced to leave school early to work in the fields. How does the unusual situation in Meghalaya relate to what we have heard from many speakers about educating a village by educating a woman? Comment with your ideas.
