E3 Youth Philanthropy Board is Looking for Casti Members


Philanthropy is voluntary action to increase the public good, via charitable aid, donations or service projects. The E3 Board provides opportunities for youth to apply their insight and knowledge to influence issues affecting our community and contribute to the public good now, as well as in the future.

Make a difference in our community – Support youth-oriented projects
The Los Altos Community Foundation E 3 Youth Philanthropy program seeks to
educate, engage, and empower local youth to effect positive change in their
local and world communities.

If you are a Los Altos or Los Altos Hills resident or attend school in Los Altos or Los Altos Hills, and are going into 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11th grade in the Fall of 2012, we invite you to apply to become a member of this volunteer grant making Board. As a Board member, you will:
• Have an opportunity to make grants to local youth ventures and programs
• Develop your leadership and communication skills
• Collaborate with local youth leaders
• Connect with local nonprofit organizations
• Deliberate funding priorities
• Research, analyze, and be an advocate for potential grant recipients
• Learn from local philanthropists about the potential impact of giving
• Become an effective grantmaker and strategic youth philanthropist
• Design and participate in service projects
